What is the best type of skateboarding?

If you want to ride ramps, transition skateboarding (or vert skateboarding)  is right for you. Transition skateboards require larger wheels that roll much faster than the technical size. Vert skateboarding is ideal to perform lip tricks, grab tricks, and many other types of skateboard tricks on a vert ramp, few of which you can’t perform without a vert ramp.

If you’re looking to perform flip tricks, ollies, and different ollie variations,  then street skateboarding is ideal for you. Street Skateboarding, or Technical Skateboarding is ideal to ride on paved surfaces such as the ones found at a shopping mall, public schools, or any other paved surfaced places. Smaller wheels are recommended because they are much lighter and closer to the ground, making it easier to perform tricks.

For an all-terrain skateboarding type, you might want to try middle-height, with slightly softer skateboarding wheels. This gives you a good balance between speed and weight, which is what you’re looking for.

Cruising skateboarding requires larger wheels for greater speed and soft wheels  are ideal for riding over rough terrain. Other wheels for cruising are available, such as huge dirt wheels with knobs, but they are not recommended for skateboards. (You might want to try longboards or dirtboards)
